Initiatives that bring joy

Our resident engagement initiatives tackle isolation and loneliness in the senior living sector, bringing joy and socialisation to our catering service.

White Oaks implement many initiatives to ensure that your residents feel at home, encouraging a sense of belonging and community wherever they reside.

Dedicated team

We have a dedicated team that focuses on delivering experiences that engage residents, which is always at the core of everything we do. From front-line staff training to continuous feedback loops, we ensure a high standard of service that centres genuine value for both residents and the broader community. We prioritise our residents’ voices, making sure they feel heard and valued through various engagement platforms. This includes Resident Engagement Forums, where residents can share their opinions and suggest improvements, and Resident Representatives, who act as a strong connection between residents and our team.

Client & resident feedback

There are many methods that we adopt to ensure that client and resident voices are listened to, including Smiley Face Feedback Kiosks, Menu Satisfaction Surveys and Resident Manager Audits. We prioritise improvement as part of our service, we want to always be able to provide you with the best quality service possible.

For example, in key communal areas we have introduced Smiley Face Feedback Kiosks. This initiative enables our team to receive valuable feedback on our services from your residents, on areas including dining, cleanliness and activities. This real-time feedback allows us to be proactive in addressing resident needs and we can continually improve the service we deliver, ensuring you receive the best we have to offer.

With this ongoing cycle of feedback, audit, and coaching, we can foster a Continuous Improvement initiative, which ensures all our services consistently evolve to meet and exceed resident expectations.

Partnerships

We are proud to partner with leading organisations like Dementia Friends for dementia awareness training, MIND for mental health support, and Terptree for British Sign Language (BSL) training. These collaborations truly enable our teams to deliver personalised and empathetic care that is tailored to each resident’s unique needs.

Wellness programs

We regularly host Wellness Programs focused on nutrition, physical well-being, and social activities, which include open events that invite community participation. This fosters a sense of belonging and encourages cross-generational engagement.

Through activities such as quiz nights, bingo afternoons, garden projects, film evenings and more, our services not only provide quality dining experiences, we also support social connection, uplifting wellbeing and tackling isolation.

Building communities

Our resident engagement programme is more than just delivering soft FM services; it’s all about enhancing the lives of residents and enriching the entire community. With a focus on proactive engagement, strategic partnerships, and ongoing improvement, we create a thriving, supportive environment for everyone. Importantly, we do not just see ourselves as a contract caterer, we want to become a key part of the communities in which we work and have several tried and tested ways of engaging with residents and their friends and families, your staff, and the wider community, focused on delivering longer-term social value to residents and local communities.

Special occasions & events

Our Cultural and Social Events bring the flavour of the local community into the senior living space, from seasonal celebrations to art classes, helping residents stay connected to the local culture and feel a sense of continuity with the town.

At White Oaks, we also love to mark special occasions. We believe that it gives a sense of familiarity and celebration that not only encourages interactions within a senior living community but also tackles feelings of isolation and depression.

We truly make these occasions extra special for residents, using our food as a platform for intergenerational and cultural connection, uplifting the spirits of your residents and improving their overall wellbeing.

“We would love to explore how we can collaborate further to enrich residents’ lives and foster a thriving, connected community.”
