We had a fantastic time at the highly anticipated Care Show at the end of April, hosted at the ExCeL in London. Over the course of two days, the UK’s leading and award-winning exhibition for the social care sector brought together thousands of passionate professionals, each dedicated to improving the quality of life for those in care.

For us at White Oaks, it was the perfect opportunity to connect with the wider care community, share our latest innovations, and showcase our commitment to excellence in residential care catering.

Putting food first in care settings

We were proud to sponsor the Catering, Hydration & Nutrition Theatre, which gave us a great platform to talk about the role of food and nutrition in care, something that’s central to our work here at White Oaks. In partnership with the Cuisine Centre, we presented a programme of talks and demos under the theme: “Putting Food First: Choice, Quality & Creativity in Care Catering.” Across the two days, we explored how thoughtful, beautifully presented food can support dignity, wellbeing, and enjoyment in care settings.

Leading the conversation on care home catering

Our very own Helen Ream, Food Service Dietitian at White Oaks and Vice-Chair of the BDA’s Food Services Specialist Group, took to the stage to explore the importance of well-balanced, nourishing meals in care. She also introduced the Cuisine Centre’s exciting new Moreish range – an innovative line of high-protein, nutrient-rich meals designed specifically for care environments. The range delivers on flavour, appearance, and nutritional value, helping care homes offer food that supports wellbeing without ever compromising on flavour.

Melting Moments

Alongside Helen’s session, the launch of our Melting Moments concept created quite a buzz at the show. As our chefs gave a live demo of these high-protein chocolate truffles, it piqued the interest of many passers-by and quickly drew a crowd. As our talented chefs demonstrated, these versatile treats can be enjoyed as a rich, satisfying bite or stirred into a cup of hot chocolate to create an indulgent treat. They’re a great example of how we bring our mission to life by delivering food that supports nutrition and brings joy to mealtimes.

This wouldn’t have been possible without our brilliant team, who brought enthusiasm, knowledge, and care to every part of the show. We came away from the show feeling inspired, grateful, and more motivated than ever to keep putting good food at the centre of great care.

The countdown is now on for the next Care Show at the NEC Birmingham this October. We’re looking forward to returning with fresh concepts, new conversations, and the same commitment to raising the standard of food in care.
